# Code verification

This is a somewhat unique scam but very frequent. In this scam, the scammers pretend to send an email pretending to be from the Tinder platform and asking for email verification. The aim is to drive the user to an external link that is laced with specific malware bugs that hijack the user’s data. One thing important to note here is that this ‘verification’ scam usually targets high-profile individuals and seldom does any regular user become a victim of such a scam.
