# Catfishing

In this scam, users are lured to communicate outside the Tinder platform, specifically using a phone call or email. The fraudster usually claims that they have temporary access to their Tinder account and thus victims are encouraged to engage outside the platform. Once the user has been successfully scammed into leaving the protection of the platform, they usually fall prey to personal and/or financial scams.
